Taking in trees from various sources. Some I know will have metal in them. I have been taking in wood for several years. I have an MC266 Roto Chopper grinder and a Norwood LumberPro HD36 Portable Sawmill. The Mill is still in the box, but we have used the grinder for 3 years. I hope to begin using the mill next spring.
Right now, I am doing my homework, and I'm ready to start seeking advice. My name is Randy Scott, owner of Acme Farms LLC, and I am known on the net as Leadarrows.
I thought it wouldn't hurt if I checked the logs as they come in for metal. Put those that test positive aside, then check the ones that pass again as I place them to be processed. With the cost of blades being what they are, I am more concerned with accuracy than cost.
Recommendations please.
Thanks
