Yesterday my dad told me about the protest over logging in the 80s and 90s. He told me what happened on the west coast and I felt bad for the loggers in the mill city. redwood summer as well can be a good source of information. In addition to that, tracking down loggers that were active in those years can also give you some unfiltered access first hand information

Yeah, the protests were brutal for the logging towns and whole communities got blindsided. If you're serious about digging into this, start with "the battle for the trees" and "forests for the trees" both lay it out raw, the environmental push, the political moves, and how working class tizens got steamrolled in the middle.
