Dumping pumpkins - Logging cottonwood

We want to dump pumpkins and now slowly tapering off the back weight of our cottonwood for the big drops. I own 2 Stihl 088s, with one of them having a 4-foot bar I haven't really understood since before. This bar is quite floppy and I don't know what to do, the chain keeps getting thrown off, too! Now I have to do double cuts to fully cut up the tree. Please help on what I can do.

Looks like you're gonna have so much fun with the pumpkins!

you may try to use smaller saws before using the big ones to finish it, this may help with the chains from loosening

Ooh, that's trickyyy. The bar is 4 ft? Maybe it's not really floppy, just a natural flex due to length. But either way if it's that floppy or bent then that's not natural anymore. And about the chain coming off, it maybe due to wrong tension or your sprocket needs a change.

I agree with @TheSun here, if the chain keeps getting thrown you should definitely go check that the drive links match the bar groove. Might be worth replacing the bar or just get a professional to dress it if the rails are already worn

Everyone gave good advice on your long bar chain troubles. It reminded me of a tricky saw issue I had once @GoldenRetrieverGuy so I am curious if you ever got that big chainsaw running smoothly for your projects.
