Newer folks, what surprised you most when you first started running saws and gear? Veterans, what do you wish you warned yourself about earlier when you were starting out?
This can be anything from chain behavior, bar oil habits, fuel mix discipline, sharpening reality, PPE comfort, fatigue, cold weather quirks, to how fast little mistakes turn into a long day. I’m not looking for perfect answers, just honest “this caught me off guard” moments.
If you want to make it extra helpful, share one small habit you do now without thinking that would have saved you time or money back then.
