I’m a little nervous posting this because I’m not super experienced yet, but my saw is doing a weird thing. It starts fine cold and idles nice, then once I’ve been cutting for a few minutes and I’m actually under load, it starts to bog down like it is starving or choking. If I let it rest for a bit it feels better again, then the cycle repeats.
A specific example was last weekend when I was bucking a small pile and the first few cuts felt great, then halfway through the saw started losing power and I had to baby it just to get through a log. It’s frustrating because I’m actually enjoying the work, but the saw is making me second guess everything I’m doing. If you were troubleshooting this in a simple order, would you check fuel filter and tank vent first, then carb tune and spark plug, then muffler screen, or do you start by ruling out chain drag and bar issues?
