what small piece of safety PPE gear that saved you?

I used to be the guy who thought I was being careful enough with just glasses and muffs. Then I had a super basic moment where the saw bumped a little, nothing dramatic, but my heart dropped because it reminded me how fast a bad day can happen. That same week I finally bought proper chaps and it honestly felt like a weight off my shoulders the first time I wore them.

What is the PPE item you regret not buying sooner. Helmet system, chaps, gloves, better eye protection, even small stuff like a real first aid kit or a tourniquet you actually know how to use. I would love to hear the specific little thing that made you go yep I am not skipping that again.

Better gloves. Not the bulky ones, just ones with good grip. It stopped little slips when hands get sweaty or cold, and that alone made the saw feel more controlled.
